Easter is a fun time for crafting, learning, and exploring with sensory play!  We hope your children enjoy some of the activity suggestions below:

Shaving Cream Eggs

Add a drop of food coloring to a baseball sized pile of shaving cream. Mix this with a paint brush. Have the children be very careful (use smocks because the food coloring will stain their clothing and hands). Have the children paint the shaving cream on a white piece of paper that is shaped like an egg.

Stained Glass Easter Eggs

Cut a piece of black construction paper into egg shapes for each of your children. Older children can draw squiggly lines on the egg separating the egg into sections. Younger children will need assistance to do. Squeeze white liquid glue along the lines generously and allow to dry overnight. The lines will be clear when dry, but can still be seen. Color each of the sections with colored chalk.

Milk Carton Easter Baskets

Use pint milk cartons and wash thoroughly. Open the tops of the milk carton and punch two holes (one on each side). Use a pipe cleaner across the top of basket and looped through the holes to make a handle for the basket. Make collage materials from construction paper, wallpaper books, yarn, fabric scraps and have the children glue (collage style) to their milk carton. Fill with colored cellophane wrap (or Easter grass) then add treats or eggs.

Paper Plate Easter Bunnies

You will need paper plates, pink small pom-pom’s, liquid glue, wiggly eyes, pink pipe cleaners, crayons. Attach wiggly eyes with liquid glue to a paper plate. Glue the pink pom-pom in the middle of the plate to create the bunny’s nose. Use pink or white pipe cleaners cut in half for the bunny’s whiskers. Older children can use markers to create facial features. Cut another paper plate in half and use for the bunny’s ears. Color or cut pink construction paper for the inside of the bunny’s ears.
